PANDEMONIUM: fantasy survival horror & miniatures

Created by The Game Forger

A survival horror boardgame with miniatures. No zombies here, just classical horror with all kind of evil creatures and a lot of fun.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Some news, some tales and a mysterious murder.
almost 8 years ago – Tue, Jun 28, 2016 at 11:12:38 PM

Just a quick update to remember you that starting the 1st of July we'll start charging your credit cards. So please, tell your bank to show some love to Pandemonium, as rejected cards could cost money to us.

To all our beloved backers who answered their backerkit surveys here you have your reward:

Jonathan Crow
Jonathan Crow

This miniature doubles the size of standard characters, as it's a full body sculpture.
The exclusive J.C. character will have a new aventure created to play with him.
He's not intended to be part of the main characters of the game, but you can create your own custom characters and creatures for Pandemonium (remember that free templates will be available when the game comes out next Halloween).

A tormented soul searching vengeance and redemption.
A tormented soul searching vengeance and redemption.

All miniatures are being produced by our manufacturer and we're now finishing the few remaining things: 2 backer cards, 2 maps, text corrections and booklets layout.
After that, we're ready to go, just help the manufacturer if problems arise and wait for the shipping.

As we commented several times, the new release date for Pandemonium is Halloween 2016 (we expect to ship everything in october).
This will be a summer full of updates, news and surprises, so stay tuned.

Pleeeeease, close your PM.
Pleeeeease, close your PM.

We closed the Pledge manager some days ago, but there're still +70 backers left to close their surveys: https://pandemonium.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

Two of them are $160 backers, two early birds, 12 $75 backers and 1 $25. The rest are $1. We'll keep trying to contact them, but...
Please, if you didn't close your backerkit yet, do it as soon as possible. It's important to us. Any doubt, just contact me. Thanks!

Happy Pandemonium backers (worldwide madness)!
Happy Pandemonium backers (worldwide madness)!

After all credit cards have been charged we'll (at last) determine the real amount gathered through backerkit. You can see in the project's site that all of it sums $55k, but it's important to note that most of that money is based on shipping costs.
Our next update will show you all details, so we can see the available money and possible unlocked features and content.

New backers, welcome.
New backers, welcome.

Pre-orders are few and add less than $4k, so we don't expect much movement there. However, we've kept the game and some selected add-ons in the backerkit pre-order site, until we ship the game.
You'll find a reduced version of the pre-order web, where almost all kickstarter exclusive content is no longer available: https://pandemonium.backerkit.com/

Every pre-order will maintain the extra $10 to thank the loyalty of all the kickstarter backers that helped us during the campaign.

That's all for now, just take care and enjoy some good games while waiting for Pandemonium.

It's raining miniatures!
almost 8 years ago – Fri, Jun 10, 2016 at 12:22:18 AM

A quick and important information before I start showing pictures: backerkit pledge manager will close this wednesday 15 of June.
120 backers have not answered their surveys yet. They will be contacted individually trying to get their info, but if they don't answer, we'll not be able to send them their games.
So please, if you haven't received your backerkit survey yet, contact us. If you are waiting to close it, now is the time, as we'll lock down all backer surveys next wednesday.

After that we'll proceed to charge your VISA, so expect the first days of July to get your accounts charged.
Thanks for your collaboration and support.

PM will close the 15th of June.
PM will close the 15th of June.

As our manufacturer is working on Pandemonium miniatures, we wanted to show you the final design of the sculpts and their look. First of all I'm glad to confirm you that the Crow and Furmungus miniatures have been unlocked thanks to the backerkit new funds, alongside other nice features that I'll comment later (and in future udates).

The wild bunch!
The wild bunch!

As you'll see we've adjusted some details in our miniatures, some are minor changes and some are more noticeable. Every change and adjustment was necessary to improve the quality of the miniature and ensure a proper production process.
We're quite proud of the redesign of the stripper, the doctor or the master, for example, as they preserve the spirit and look of the original ones but with a more clever design.

The stripper new design.

"Doctor, I need help, I can't stop buying boardgames..."
"Doctor, I need help, I can't stop buying boardgames..."

White crane fist and tiger claw!

Other changes are more subtle but equally important, trying to easen the production of moulds or the painting of the miniature. We got rid of some troublesome details and exagerated selected areas, trying to better define faces, weapons or cloth.

Chainsaw is back!
Chainsaw is back!

Badass character!
Badass character!

"Love is in the air."
"Love is in the air."

Here you have all 15 characters with their "real" proportions:

Choose wisely.
Choose wisely.

We worked hard on the creature miniatures, it was important to adjust little details and unify their size and design.

New cylindrical bases.
New cylindrical bases.

WWII Werewolf as an Arcane miniature.
WWII Werewolf as an Arcane miniature.

And talking of enemy miniatures we're proud to present the final boss of the game, the Fallen Lord aka Evil Lord.
And more good news, we'll use the backerkit funds to make this miniature bigger.
We wanted the dimensional god to be the biggest miniature in Pandemonium, but we've made the Fallen Lord 1/3 bigger than before, becoming by far the biggest miniature in the game.

360º Evilness!
360º Evilness!

As you may remember, Andres Aguilar got the "design your own miniature" pledge and we decided to create the final boss for Pandemonium.
This scary guy collects the souls of their victims and of course he will try to get yours. You must destroy his Evil mask to get a chance to destroy him.

Don't let this guy get your Soul!
Don't let this guy get your Soul!

You'll be able to extract the head of the miniature and change between the skull-masked boss or the human head. The human head is sculpted to resemble that of Andres himself.
And wait to see the amazing illustration that Borja is doing for this character and the future work of Obenji painting the miniature for Andrés (we'll do a painting guide for it that will be included in the printed artbook).

I know this guy.
I know this guy.

So, here you have all the final miniatures:

Darkness comes.
Darkness comes.

And the size comparative:

Who's scarier?
Who's scarier?

And of course, don't forget about the scenery miniatures. We've also adjusted them, creating more solid and resistant structures.

Useful goodies for you!
Useful goodies for you!

So, here you have ALL miniatures included or available in Pandemonium (at "comparison" scale):

"Gotta catch 'em all!"
"Gotta catch 'em all!"

But you may have noticed that the recently unlocked "crow-based" miniature is nowhere to be found. That's right, we want to leave something hidden in the shadows for our next update. But I want to awake your interest advancing that as a new PM giveaway we'll design a new and exclusive adventure for this miniature, so you can explore deeper into the world of Pandemonium.

New adventure as a PM exclusive unlock.

Last but not least I want to show you some new illustrations for our kickstarter exclusive characters made by our illustrator Borja. Now, you have all the character mats ready and finished.

I hope I'll be able to show you some miniature samples next time we update. Until then, take care and spread the Pandemonium word :D

As usual I want to highlight a friendly kickstarter project. The people at Play Attitude have launched another campaign (yes, the people who gave us that lovely free exclusive fairy card). This time it's a collections of App Book for smartphones and tablets with original tales from classical authors such as Edgar Allan Poe, H. P. Lovecraft, C. Dickens, etc.

Pandemonium will be back soon!

Live after the Pledge Manager: part1
about 8 years ago – Mon, May 09, 2016 at 12:27:17 AM

Almost 76% of our backers have answered the backerkit surveys. We’ll close the PM in June and we hope the 300 backers left will be able to close their pledges soon.

When we’ve closed the backerkit PM we’ll see the final amount gathered and we’ll be able to offer some more stretch goals and rewards. Right now, we can assure you that the crow and Furmungus miniatures are unlocked and will be added to the game for free.

I'm free!
I'm free!

We’ve put a lot of effort and attention to the PM these last months, but that doesn’t mean that the game production stopped. There’s been a lot of movement in a lot of important areas: shipping, manufacturers, distribution and game improvements.

First of all I want to talk about a very important decision and that’s our manufacturer. We’ve been negotiating with seven manufacturers before, during and after the kickstarter campaign. I must say it’s been hard but a rewarding experience.
Last months we worked with Boda Boardgames, who manufactured Super Dungeon Explorers for Soda Pop or The Undercity for Privateer, among others. They even produced some Pandemonium master miniatures for the molds and I must say that their communication and attention has been excellent.

Boda old sculpt proofs.
Boda old sculpt proofs.

However we finally decided to work with Only Co. They worked for several years with Cartamundi (worldwide renowned for their cards and components great quality) and have a lot of experience in the creation of PVC molds. They recently produced with success all the miniatures for the kickstarter pirates hit Skull Tales and are the official manufacturer of some European well known producers, like GDM.

We’ve seen their cards and game boxes quality and they are very impressive. The communication has been great and we’re producing the miniatures and some of the components right now. I hope to start showing you some images of the results soon. We’re very confident in their commitment in this project.

Apart from that, we’ve also started producing some of the add-ons. For example, Modular Terrain, our manufacturer for the skull markers and deck/dice trays is working hard to have everything ready for you.

Skull time!
Skull time!

I also want to announce that at the end of this week all backers who helped commenting on BGG will receive their pdf artbooks. Just keep an eye on your BGG mails. Thanks again for your help during the campaign.

Things to do: some of the cards need additional narration texts, rules booklet lacks final layout, adventures booklet needs an improved layout, the Fallen Lord miniature needs refining, the crow-like miniature needs to be done, 3 maps to be done, 6 illustrations to be done, 2 backer exclusive cards to be done, back box design to be done. Everything else is completely finished.

We’ve been improving, adjusting and adapting our miniatures to be production ready and avoid problems. Some little changes had to be done here and there, as we already warned during the kickstarter campaign. However, all of the characters and creatures maintain the same feel as the initial designs.

Notice the changes in the doctor or the lovers, details are better defined and elements have moved to improve the production of the molds and visibility of the structures. We’ve managed to create bigger skulls, rocks and the like in our scenery miniatures. We’ve unified the creatures bases making them all circular, so now all characters have squared bases and all creatures have cylindrical bases.

All the Encounter Events have been created and all the weapons have been revised. We rewrote some pacts and grimoires and reorganized the skill tree to be more efficient.

We expect to have everything finished at the end of this month, so that nothing interferes in the production deadlines.

As we commented before, it’s very unlikely that the game will be finished in July but we expect to have it ready on September and our intention is that you receive your new and shinny copy of Pandemonium before next Halloween (mid/end of October 2016).

As always, we’ll inform you of any advance, news or problems we may have.
Lots of things to show you in the next weeks.
Thanks again for your support.

Pledge Manager is here! Hell yeah!

Spanish Update here: www.darkstone.es/index.php?topic=4744.120

At last!
At last!

Dear backers, PM is finally here. As you know we used Backerkit and it's been a hard week fixing details and improving the campaign setup.
Sunday
is a great day to spend some time visiting our PM, so don't hesitate to navigate it, use it and comment us anything that needs improvement.

Remember that you have a step by step guide to use Pandemonium pledge manager in our last update here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/809492703/pandemonium-fantasy-survival-horror-and-miniatures/posts/1537275

It's important that you make sure your adress is correct before confirming (but you can make changes later, if you move to a new place, for example).

Review your adress.
Review your adress.

All backers that entered the project after kickstarter will get their invitations on wednesday, so kickstarter backers have some time to try the platform.
All new backers must be added manually and receive the invitation by mail (so, please, take a look to your spam folder).

Add new backer.
Add new backer.

All those kickstarter backers that added funds through paypal will receive a Complimentary Credit to their accounts with the money pledged via paypal. However, we'll need some days to do that, so please, wait until wednesday to confirm your pledge.

$6 added manually.
$6 added manually.

Backerkit has a Pre-order site related to the project, so new people can enter Pandemonium throught he pledge manager. This is the web adress:
https://pandemonium.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

You can help us with funds, sharing this link with your friends and family. We'll be updating the social networks and the kickstarter button to redirect to this site.

Pre-order Pandemonium!
Pre-order Pandemonium!

Now, time to talk about available add-ons.
You have 3 game related add-ons: full game + all stretch goals, full game + all stretch goals + all add-ons*, 6 full games for retailers.

If you get a new game as add-on (apart from the one in your pledge) you must pay it's shipping costs. We won't combine shipping costs, sorry.
That's true for any add-on you get, they all have a shipping cost specified that will add to your total amount. Usually that's just 0,5, 1, or 2 dollars (depends on weight and volume).

Add-on description, details and shipping cost.
Add-on description, details and shipping cost.

There're some new add-ons, as you already knew and some miniature packs for those who dare to get extra units or enter the project only for the miniatures and are not interested in the game itself. The two packs are: boss pack (5 miniatures) and legged pack (7 miniatures). We have to add good images of every miniature in those packs (in the add-on description), but we'll do it in the next few days.

PM exclusive add-ons.
PM exclusive add-ons.

None of these PM exclusive add-ons are included in previous pledges and are available for the first time and exclusively through backerkit.
We won't be adding more add-ons to the game, we want to focus on production.

We can, of course, add more components to the game as stretch goals, but that'd be free for everyone. As you know, next one is Crow, then Furmungus.

And there are of course all the kickstarter campaign add-ons:

There's also the classical backerkit Tip add-on for those who want to leave some money "for the love of the game":

Help Pandemonium project!
Help Pandemonium project!

 Shipping fees:
We've tried hard to mantain the aproximated fees commented in the kickstarter campaign and I think we're very close in all countries. For the full game shipping is:
$12 Spain, $15 USA and some EU countries (UK, Germany, France, etc), $18 most of EU (with some countries like Greece, Croatia or Malta being up to $30), $22 for Australia and NZ (impossible to maintain those $12), $25 for most of Asia, $30 and $35 some countries and $40 the rest of the world.

$25 pledge is less and $160 pledge is between $5 and $10 more. All retailer packs are combined (around $40).

Shipping fees in your backerkit pledge.
Shipping fees in your backerkit pledge.

Take into consideration that we're losing money in all those shipping fees, but we wanted to adjust the best we could to the kickstarter costs we estimated during the campaign.
What we found is that you can get extremely good prices when you have 5000 or 10000 games to distribute, but when you have 1000 or 2000, life just sucks ;)

FREE SHIPPING: those that want to pick up their games in Barcelona (Spain) or Madrid (Spain) for free, must tell us, so we can add the shipping costs as free credit to their accounts. As those will be few people, we don't wanted to add a new question to your survey, so not to bother the majority of users.
You can contact us via kickstarter mail or to [email protected]

The name of the game stores where you'll be able to get your Pandemonium content will be announced in the future, but we expect to have a couple of retailers in the city center of Barcelon and Madrid, and maybe more.

Important note: if you get your game with the free shipping option and change your mind in the future, the shipping costs may be a lot more expensive then, and you'll have to pay them before receiving your game.

W.I.P.
W.I.P.

We have news related to delivery date, manufacturer, production, stretch goals, illustrations and manuals, but I want to focus this update to the Pledge Manager and I promise a complete update soon, with more news and surprises.

Thanks for your patience and support to the project. With your help all the hard work is well worth. Keep visiting us in Facebook and Twitter.

Pandemonium is coming!

Quick Update!
about 8 years ago – Mon, Apr 04, 2016 at 12:42:48 AM

Pledge manager is coming. Just some bank account arrangements and Backerkit approvation left. We expect to open this week (fingers crossed).

Now paypal is officially closed, the only way to enter Pandemonium will be through Backerkit. Tomorrow we'll know the total amount pledged via Paypal.
Once we reach the next stretch goal, we'll close the survey (things remain the same, with The Crow inspired miniature winning with a 57% of votes).

I want to talk about some other project news, but let me focus this update on the upcoming Pledge Manager and the steps to follow once you receive it. I want to give instructions to people arrived after the kickstarter and those on the late pledge list.

This is the current state of the Backerkit. As you'll see, everything is ready and only payment and approvation is on hold. Here you can see the total amount of money that the service will cost us and every step done. I think it's a good information for those creators wanting to use the system or for users helping to understant the platform.

We had to do lots of testing before deciding to pay that amount. It's a great tool, but we had to be sure it was adequate for our project.
We had to do lots of testing before deciding to pay that amount. It's a great tool, but we had to be sure it was adequate for our project.

First of all you'll receive an email like this and once you click to respond you'll go to backerkit site with a summary of your pledge current status and the Get Started! button.
You'll receive the mail from The Game Forger with the subject "Response Needed -- Get your reward for PANDEMONIUM: fantasy survival horror & miniatures". Please, make sure you don't lose the mail in the Spam folder.

You can decide to upgrade your pledge level (specially useful for those $1 pledge kickstarter users). I've included only three available pledge levels: game, game + add-ons and retailers pack. So, no more custom cards or miniatures, that was part of the kickstarter experience.

Update your level!
Update your level!

After that, if your pledge has any related question with information we need, you'll just answer it. For example, game language.

Now you're inside Pandemonium backerkit site, so you can add components, change information and manage your pledge. If you add any add-on from the list available (press VIEW button to see add-on details and get it) its price will be substracted from your available credit. If you don't have available credit, you'll have to pay for it later, in the "confirm" step.
Note that some add-ons have additional options that you may have to select before confirm your purchase.

Select your add-ons and configure them.
Select your add-ons and configure them.

All add-ons have an associated extra shipping cost based on weight (it may be just an additional 0.5 dollars) that will be added to the total shipping costs.

After that you'll see your shipping info (based on kickstarter info). You can edit it, and if you're an user arriving after the kickstarted campaign, you can add your details here. Please, ensure that your shipping adress and info are correct (you can edit it later, but it is your responsability to provide us with the correct information to send your products).

And finally, you'll see a summary of your Backerkit order and just confirm it. If you need to pay for shipping costs or new add-ons or pledge updates, just pay easily with your VISA. Backerkit uses the same system as kickstarter, the simple and secure Stripe.

Easy and simple. And secure!
Easy and simple. And secure!

Remember that you need to add the shipping costs now. We've tried to keep costs as similar as the kickstarter information specified during campaign. I'll confirm you the definitive shipping costs once we launch the site.

Finally, any user just buying add-ons (and no game) MUST add a new add-on called "Add-on shipping costs", that is the basic cost of a single product. All other users don't have to worry about that.
Also, any new backer coming through the pre-order backerkit site, will have to add an additional $10. They will get the same content as any other kickstarter backer, but from now on we have to pay taxes differently, so this takes care of it. Also, I think this is a kind of reward for all those loyal users that supported us during kickstarter and via paypal.

That's it for now. I hope to send a new update really soon.
Thanks again for your following, patience and support.
