Kickstarter surveys sent!
over 8 years ago – Wed, Dec 09, 2015 at 12:30:38 PM

Hello, I've just send kickstarter surveys to collect some information to help us before launching the pledge manager next year.

Unfortunately kickstarter only allows you to add 2 options: normal question or multiple options question. The multi option doesn't allow to mark multiple choices, which makes it useless for the information we wanted to collect (add-ons).

As usual, once sent, kickstarter doesn't allow to change anything.

I must apologize for that, sometimes I expect kickstarter options to be clever and sophisticated, but I guess I'm learning the hard way to be very careful with its limited tools.
So please, just pick one option and don't worry, as you'll have to select all your pledges and add-ons in the pledge manager.

This kickstarter survey is just a little help for us, so we can see the quantity of games in one language or another, shipping information, etc.

Not everyone will have this option available. As soon as we detected the problem I could delete that option from some surveys (every pledge has its own survey).
That's why some people recommend to send one survey and wait for feeedback before sending the rest (again, lesson learned).

Almost everyone will be asked to give his/her adress, game language and email. If there's any question you don't want to answer (maybe give your email or specify a new add-on), just write "none" in the text field, as all answers are required.

Thanks for your understanding!
Next update we'll talk about game content and news. Stay tunned!

Horror on Kickstarter!
over 8 years ago – Sun, Nov 29, 2015 at 03:34:21 AM

Pandemonium finished its adventure on kickstarter and we're really happy; we'll keep you informed with news and surprises. But now, I wanted to recommend some other great horror related projects now live on kickstarter. They all look great, so don't forget to take a look:

Escape the Nightmare

This game does something really unusual in that it really manages to capture the tension of the horror genre.
One of its reviewers writes “Coming out of a game is that same feeling as leaving the cinema after watching a really good horror film, you’re not sure why you put yourself through that stress but you know that you enjoyed it.” and all of them recommend the game.

If you fancy experiencing gameplay that genuinely feels like nothing else you've ever played and have a tenner to spend on a game then give it a look.

Perdition's Mouth

This project has been on my radar since I was running the Wizard's Academy Kickstarter. The team running it are really proactive and obviously care about giving their backers a great experience.

The project itself is a big box dark fantasy game in the cooperative dungeon crawler genre. They're really pushing the cooperative element hard with the need to coordinate tactical decisions and the capacity to interrupt each others turn with card play – as a designer I'm a big fan of the latter sort of approach especially for it's potential to deal with downtime issues.

The Letter

The Letter is in a different genre to the other projects I'm mentioning here since it's a computer game. It owes most to visual novels, but dips its toes into other types of gameplay for resolving stress situations.

The thing that made me pick it out is that it's putting a lot of emphasis on the experience of different characters and the relationships between them. I'm a sucker for pulped tree novels that take this approach to storytelling so I reckon it's got the potential to do some really neat things by blending that with a nonlinear narrative.

Paypal available now!
over 8 years ago – Fri, Nov 27, 2015 at 03:37:17 PM

We've added the option to get pledges and add-ons via Paypal. That's a perfect way to add some content before the pledge manager arrives next year. It's also a good way to get the game if you lost the kickstarter campaign.

The paypal option will be available until end of December. After that, the only way to access Pandemonium will be through the pledge manager. So if you know of any friend (or foe) interested, just tell them.

Here you'll find the main pledges of the campaign and ALL add-ons. Every option has a paypal button, just click it and you're ready to go!

Problems with kickstarter payments?

We’ve noticed that there are several backers who are having problems with their pledges. Sometimes pledges cannot be collected by Kickstarter, and this can happen because of an expired credit card, a mistake on the information provided, or a block from your bank on the charge for your pledge. Banks usually place a block on Kickstarter pledges because they’re not part of the “usual transactions” for the credit card used to pledge.

What can you do to fix this? Call your bank! A simple call to your bank to let them know you did indeed pledge for the Pandemonium Kickstarter and letting them know the amount you pledged for so they can confirm the transaction will allow Kickstarter to process your pledge.

Recommended Project

This project helped us during the Pandemonium campaign, so it was about time we returned the favour. Good luck guys!

MICATON is a new screw holder device that combines a very powerful neodymium magnet and a rubber body, which combined gives MICATON some quality points never seen so far in products that can compete with us.
A revolutionary device that will turn your screwing job much easier and powerful.

What now?
over 8 years ago – Wed, Nov 25, 2015 at 01:20:21 PM

Pandemonium kickstarter finished almost a week ago and we’ve continued working on the Project. So, where are we now and what are the future plans? Let’s talk about that.

ARE YOU LATE?

If you missed the Pandemonium party (shame on you) there’s still a chance to jump on board with the late pledge form: we only need your mail and we’ll add you to the PM when the time comes, so you can get the game or any add-on you like.

BUT during December you’ll be able to get the game with paypal if you want to do so NOW and don’t want to wait for the PM to open (that should be around February 2016). In our next update I’ll comment just how to do that.
And remember, if anybody enters now and the total amount pledged rises, all this money will help unlock the next stretch goals, so everyone is happy here!

PRESENT

We’ve contacted backers that got pledges that imply to design a card or miniature and we’re now working to include them as soon as possible.

We’re working to redesign the character mats to make them more visually appealing and improve its usability. We also have starter to search for the best option to create the character illustrations for the game (remember they were unlocked last day of the campaign).

We’re very busy with the final redaction of manuals. This is one of our major concerns right now and we want to create the best layout we can and make the text very clear and well structured. Happily we have the help us some talented and professional community members that have volunteered to take a look on them once ready and correcting whatever necessary, both in Spanish and English and both for the manuals and cards, so the final product should be really well done. Of course, we’ll show you and let our backers download the manuals way before they enter production. We want your feedback and help!

Currently you can download draft manuals of the game in spanish, English, French, Italian, polish and brazilian Portuguese (thanks to Henrique Romero Vasquez). German and dutch are also being translated. All of them available on BGG Pandemonium site:
https://boardgamegeek.com/files/thing/168537

We’ve been talking a lot with our different manufacturers and are really close to arrive to a final decision. There are a lot of considerations to be done before deciding. Keep you informed on that.

Finally, we’ll soon start collecting all names from users who commented or rated on BGG to send them the free digital artbook with some highlights of the game to whet your appetite. Remember this artbook is very different to the one offered as add-on that will contain a lot of information on the game creation process, add more content, have a better layout and of course be beautifully printed in full color.

SURVEY

We anticipate the survey will be sent out the first week of December. The Survey will collect your basic information so that we can credit your pledge and prepare some game content.

FUTURE

We’ve already printed all game components for different prototypes, but there’s a lot of work to do correcting and adapting all that to the manufacturer’s design rules. Pandemonium have more than 300 cards divided in 7 different decks and a good bunch of tiles and mats and tokens. We’ll get design probes of everything, so don’t worry, as you’ll be able to see how all this stuff advances during production and give your feedback.

As you know we create our miniatures in digital sculpture and then prototype them with 3d print. As amazing as 3d printing is, it is also unable to mass produce as effectively as resin or PVC molding do. We need to create all those molds and adjust everything necessary for the process to work. It’s usual to make changes to the models to better produce these molds and it’s also usual to repeat several tests before getting to the definitive and “perfect” miniature. So expect a lot of work here and, as always, we’ll keep you informed and show you all steps we make.

And we also have to produce add-ons, but we’ll not do so before the PM closes and we know how many of each reward we need to produce. In some cases we’ll have production samples of the pieces (like the skull markers), but other things (artbook, for example) we can only show you in pdf samples or similar.
We’re working on some new add-ons that will come when the PM opens, but we don’t want to include too many things, as we want to concentrate on the game, BUT we listen to your requests and we’ll try to add anything you consider interesting.

SHIPPING

We don’t know the final weight of the Pandemonium game with all extras, but we expect 3kg minimum. We need that info to adjust rates.

We keep working to get the best possible prices, but we already have some adjusted and fair rates here, with USA, Canada, EU and Australia/New Zealand being really good. We’ll see how to lower shipping costs to Asia and other American countries, so expect news on this matter during next months.

PLEDGE MANAGER

We’re looking for the best option here. Backerkit and Crowdox seem to be popular between our backers, but remember that PM won’t open until (maybe) February and we’ll try to maintain it open for two months.

Until then, you can acquire any product you want with paypal, but if you are already a Pandemonium Backer, we recommend you to wait until the PM comes, because you must enter the PM to confirm your address and pay shipping costs when time comes.

THE END!

You’ve read all this text without falling asleep? You are a real brave Pandemonium hero! Thanks and keep visiting us!

And here we go, that's a really amazing end of campaign and we must thank you for your incredible support and help. Congratulations, because we're making this game grow and improve and we couldn't be happier with the experience.

I can't open this damn cube...
I can't open this damn cube...

We've unlocked ALL social stretch goals. That's been hard and we almost didn't make it, but you're incredible and have succeed and so we have 6 new exclusive event cards, 30 red cubes that are really helpful to use as counters and very especially as Souls in the elimination mode (more on that soon). We also got the 3d marker by recommending the BGG image!

We dediced not to include more social SG, so people don't get too much confused with the end of campaign and all of us can focus on the "normal" SG and add-ons. Maybe once the campaign in over we propose once in a while more social SG, so you can still continue helping us when necessary. Remember that we can keep unlocking content after the campaign ends through the pledge manager.

And now for the new unlocked content:

Let's do a last efford and get some of those new miniatures!
Thanks!
